# Clans

> Create or join a trading clan. Team up, compete, and earn together.

Clans are groups of traders who team up under a shared identity. They bring a cooperative dimension to Faction Trade — compete as a team, share a private channel, and climb clan leaderboards together.

## Planned features

### Create or join a clan

Any trader will be able to create a clan with a custom name, icon, and color. Other traders can request to join or be invited by clan officers.

### Clan chat channels

Each clan gets a **private chat channel** accessible only to clan members. This is a space for coordinating strategies, sharing signals, and building team culture.

### Clan roles

| Role        | Permissions                                                                            |
| ----------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Leader**  | Full management — promote members, demote officers, update clan info, disband the clan |
| **Officer** | Invite new members, moderate clan chat                                                 |
| **Member**  | Chat in the clan channel, participate in clan competitions                             |

### Clan leaderboards

Clans will compete on leaderboards based on the combined performance of their members. Metrics may include total clan PnL, aggregate volume, and average rank.

### Clan competitions

Periodic clan-vs-clan events with rewards for top-performing groups.

## What to expect

When clans launch, you will be able to:

1. Create a clan from the **Profile > Clan** tab
2. Invite other traders to join
3. Access your clan's private chat channel from the Social page
4. Track your clan's standing on the leaderboard
