# Channels

> Rank-gated channels from General to Top Traders Only.

Faction Trade has seven chat channels. Some are open to everyone, while others require a minimum rank to access. This creates tiered communities where traders at similar levels can connect.

## Channel list

| Channel              | Required rank                | Description                                      |

| **General**          | None (all users)             | Open discussion for everyone                     |
| **Trading Chat**     | None (all users)             | Real-time trade discussion and market commentary |
| **Signals & Alerts** | Bronze Trader (500 pts)      | Community trading signals and alert sharing      |
| **Strategies**       | Silver Trader (5,000 pts)    | Strategy discussion and idea exchange            |
| **Pro Lounge**       | Gold Trader (25,000 pts)     | Conversation for experienced traders             |
| **Elite Desk**       | Diamond Trader (100,000 pts) | High-level market analysis and insights          |
| **Top Traders Only** | Champion (500,000 pts)       | Exclusive channel for top performers             |

## How channel access works

* Channels you can access appear normally in the sidebar
* Channels you have not unlocked yet show a **lock icon** and cannot be entered
* Access is based on your **current point total** — as you earn points, new channels automatically unlock
* If you meet the rank requirement, the channel unlocks immediately with no manual action needed

## Unlocking channels

Earn points through three activities:

1. **Trading volume** — every trade earns volume points
2. **Realized PnL** — profitable trades earn PnL points
3. **Social activity** — participating in chat earns social points
